HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him, he has appointed

Thomas Melanophy,

a member of the Police Force, to be an Inspector of Slaughter-houses and of Cattle intended for slaughter, within the Mouth Ida slaughter-house district.

NOTIFICATION OF THE APPOINTMENT OF WAIKOUAITI POUNDKEEPER.

Superintendent’s Office,
Dunedin, 9th February, 1864.

NOTICE is hereby given, that by virtue of powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance, 1862,” I have appointed

Archibald Valentine,
of Waikouiti, settler, to be the Keeper of Waikouaiti Public Pound, being the stockyard of John Jones, Esquire, situate between his dairy and Waikouaiti River, at Waikouaiti aforesaid, vice Robert Day Bust, resigned.

OTAGO GENERAL ROAD BOARD.

A MEETING of the Otago General Road Board will be held at the Government Offices, Dunedin, upon Thursday, the 18th day of February current, at noon, for the despatch of business.

PROVINCE OF OTAGO, NEW ZEALAND, TO WIT.

I HEREBY certify that John Stubbs Watt, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, has this day submitted for my examination his diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons in England, as likewise his diploma as a Licentiate of the Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, and also his diploma as Licentiate in Midwifery, in accordance with the provisions of an Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, Session I., No. 2, of 1849, intituled “An Ordinance to define the qualifications, and to provide for the remuneration in certain cases of medical practitioners.”

Dunedin, this fifth day of February 1864.
