TENDERS will be received at the Office of the
Secretary of Public Works until noon, of the
following Mondays—

1st February, tenders to be lodged for the supply of
300 yards of Metal on the Road from Dunedin to
Saddle Hill.

1st February, for quarrying and breaking 1000 cubic
yards of Road Metal at the Saddle Hill quarries.
Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender
obtained, at the Office of the Road Engineer.

8th February, for the erection of Portable Police
Buildings at the Taieri Gold Field, (comprising 3
Houses, a four-stalled Stable and a Cook-house).
Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms
of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial
Engineer.

8th February, for the erection of a Boat Shed at the
Heads. Plans and Specifications may be seen,
and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the
Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, until Monday, the
1st February, and after that date, at the Harbour
Office, Port Chalmers.

15th February, for the erection of a District Court
House at West Taieri.

15th February, for the erection of Gold Fields
Buildings at Mount Ida, comprising—
Court House
Wardens Quarters
Gold Receiver’s Office and Quarters
Clerk, Bailiff and Inspector’s Quarters.
Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained, at the Office of the Provincial
Engineer, Dunedin.

22nd February, for the erection of a Schoolmaster’s
Residence at Oamaru. Plans and Specifications
may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the
Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, until
Saturday the 30th of January, and after that date,
at the Police Station, Oamaru.

All Tenders to be lodged by noon, of the above
dates.

BRIDGE AT WAIKOUAITI.

BRIDGE at Waikouaiti, the time for receiving
tenders for the said work is hereby extended
till noon, of 1st Feb., 1864.

9th February proximo, for Shoeing Horses at Dunstan
Station for the period ending 30th June, 1864.

NEW EDUCATIONAL or SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board
have divided the former Educational or School
District of North East Harbour into the two new
districts of North East Harbour and Portobello respectively
in terms of the Education Ordinance 1862, clause 9,
and that the following is a description of the said new
Educational or School Districts of North East Harbour
and Portobello respectively, viz:

NORTH EAST HARBOUR DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north
by the harbour; on the east by section 12, block vii,
Portobello Bay District, and by the road line traversing
section 13, block ii, Otago Peninsula, until it joins the
main road line at the eastern boundary of section 48;
thence by the said main road line where it traverses
sections 48, 46, 44, 55 and 56; thence by the road line
which forms the eastern boundary of section 59, all in
block ii, Otago Peninsula; thence by the main road
line which forms the eastern boundary of section 3 and
application 1708, block iii, Otago Peninsula; and
thence by the Government Reserve at Sandfly Bay; on
the south by the ocean; and on the west by Anderson’s
Bay Educational District.

PORTOBELLO DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north
by the harbour; on the east by the Maori Reserve; on
the south by the ocean; and on the west by the North
East Harbour District.

EDUCATION BOARD MEETING.

A Special Meeting of the Education Board will be
held at the Government Offices, Dunedin, on Thursday
the 4th day of February, 1864, at 12 o’clock noon, for
the despatch of business.

TO THE INHABITANTS OF NORTH EAST
HARBOUR DISTRICT.

In consequence of the former Educational or School
District of North East Harbour having been
divided by the Educational Board into the new districts
of North East Harbour and Portobello, in virtue of
the powers conferred on them by the Education
Ordinance 1862,

A PUBLIC MEETING,
of the Owners and Occupiers of Land, and Householders,
within the said new Educational or School
district of North East Harbour, will be held within the
School-room there, upon Monday the 8th day of
February, 1864, at 6 o’clock p.m., to elect a new
School Committee for the said district, in terms of the
9th, 13th and 14th sections of the Education Ordinance
1862.
