Slaughter-houses, and of Cattle intended for Slaughter, within the Tokomairiro Slaughter-house District at Tokomairiro aforesaid.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary of Public Works, until noon of Tuesday, November 11th, for the supply of three horses and three drivers, at per day, between the 11th of November and the 31st of December.
The horses and drivers to be subject to the approval and to act under the directions of the Provincial Engineer.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary of Public Works, until noon of Tuesday, the 24th inst., for the Erection of a Bridge over the Tokomairiro River, on the Road to the Coal Fields.
Plans and Specifications may be seen and Forms of Tender obtained until the 17th inst., at the Police Station, Tokomairiro, and afterwards until the 24th inst. at the Provincial Engineer’s Office, Dunedin.

owner unknown, for trespassing on the Impounder’s run, Otikiki, Waitaki, for which £3 per head is claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, at Oamaru, on the 17th day of November, 1863, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 27th day of October, 1863, by John Thompson, Port Chalmers, a Bay Gelding, white star on forehead, white spot on left side, marked with letter F on left shoulder; owner unknown; found straying in Sawyer’s Bay, for which the said John Thompson claims £5 damages; and in default of being released, the above Gelding will be sold at the Public Pound at Port Chalmers, on the 17th day of November, 1863, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 31st day of Oct., 1863, by Constable James Sherrar, one Chestnut Gelding, branded JP conjoined on off shoulder, white on face, low in condition, owner unknown, for trespassing on Frederick-street, Dunedin; and in default of being released, the above Gelding will be sold at the Public Pound, at North Dunedin, on the 21st day of November, 1863, at 12 o’clock noon.

TO THE INHABITANTS OF PORTOBELLO DISTRICT.
A PUBLIC MEETING of the Owners and Occupiers of Land and Householders in the Portobello District of the Otago Peninsula will be held in the Portobello School-house, upon Thursday, the 26th day of November, 1863, at 2 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of considering the provisions of the Education Ordinance, 1862, section 12, in reference to the proposed formation of the said locality of Portobello into a separate Educational or School District, under the Ordinance.
The proposed district will extend the whole width of the Peninsula, from the Maori Reserve to that Road Line which extends from Seal Point to the N. W. corner of Block VII., original Survey District, thence by the western boundary of N. Bell’s land, and the southern boundary of T. Anderson’s property to the Beach, near Grassy Point.

REWARD OF TEN POUNDS.
WHEREAS there is reason to believe that a practice exists of throwing Ashes overboard into the Harbor, from Steamers visiting or plying at this Port, a Reward of Ten Pounds will be paid to any person who shall give such information as will lead to the conviction of any person so offending.
