✨ Gold-field Proclamations
and appoint all that other territory hereinafter described, to be a Gold-field under the provisions of the said Act, that is to be called
NOKOMAI GOLD-FIELD,
(that is to say:) All that area bounded on the north by the Kawarau River; on the east by the water-shed of the Carrick, Rocky Mount, Steeple, and East Dome Ranges, thence west to the Mataura; on the south by the Mataura; and on the west by the water-shed of the Slate, Neria, and Double Cone Ranges to the Kawarau.
And I do hereby, in further pursuance of the said power and authority, also constitute and appoint all that other territory hereinafter described, to be a Gold-field under the provisions of the said Act, and to be called
THE DUNSTAN GOLD-FIELD,
(that is to say:) All that area bounded on the north by a straight line drawn from the mouth of the Kirtle Burn to the mouth of the Law Burn, thence in a direct line east to one mile from the banks of the Clutha River, thence to Leaning Rock Creek, keeping one mile distant from the Clutha River, thence by Leaning Rock Creek to Leaning Rock; on the east by the Clutha River and Manuherikia to within four miles of its mouth, thence to the Manor Burn at one mile from the mouth of the latter, thence, keeping at that distance from the Manuherikia and from the Clutha, to Carn Hill; on the south by a direct line from Carn Hill to the Obelisk; and on the west by the Carrick Ranges to the mouth of the Kirtle Burn. Also, all that territory hereinafter described, situate to the north of the Dunstan Gold-field, to be henceforth included within, and to form part of, the Dunstan Gold-field under the provisions of the said Act, that is to say: from the junction of the Kawarau and Kirtle Burn up the east bank of the Kirtle Burn to the first or most southern creek falling in to the Kirtle Burn; thence to the watershed line of the Mount Pisa Range to the source of the Park Burn; thence to its junction with the Clutha River, across the Clutha River; and continuing the same line eastward for one mile to the east of the Clutha River; thence southward, keeping one mile distant from the Clutha River to the north-eastern corner of the present boundary of the said Dunstan Gold-field.
And in further pursuance of the said power and authority, I do hereby constitute and appoint all that other territory hereinafter described to be a Gold-field under the provisions of the said Act, and to be called
THE WAKATIPU GOLD-FIELD,
(that is to say:) The Wakatipu Gold-Field shall comprise all lands hereby extended over those lands drained by the feeders of the Wakatipu Lake; also over all lands drained by the northern feeders of the Kawarau, as far down as the junction of the Kirtle Burn; also over all lands drained by the western feeders of the Kirtle Burn aforesaid; also over all lands drained by the feeders of the Upper Cardrona, as far down as Boundary Creek, and including the lands drained by the southern feeders of the latter creek. On the east it is bounded by the Nokomai Gold-field, and on the south by the Mataura River to its source.
And in further pursuance of the said power and authority, I do hereby also constitute and appoint all that other territory hereinafter described to be a Gold-field under the provisions of the said Act, and to be called
MOUNT IDA GOLD FIELD,
(that is to say:) All that area of land bounded on the north by a line running from Mount Ida to Kyeburn Hill; on the east by the Kakanui Mountains, thence by the spur leading down to the Wahemo or Shag River, below the Deep Dell Creek Junction; on the south by the South Watershed of the Deep Dell Creek, thence west to the Taieri River, thence by the Taieri River aforesaid to the Gimmer Burn, thence by the Gimmer Burn aforesaid to North Roughridge Hill; and on the west by the Roughridge to Mount Ida aforesaid.
And I declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation and take effect on the day of the date hereof.
