NEW ZEALAND MAIL SERVICE.
A BONUS of £350 will be paid by the Sub-Treasurer of the New Zealand Government at Dunedin, to the master of any steam vessel fulfilling these Melbourne with the New Zealand Government Mail, within twenty-four hours after the mail has left without them, and deliver the same to the Postmaster at Dunedin, Otago, (landing the South Island portion at the Bluff, weather permitting,) within nine days of leaving Melbourne.
This Bonus will be paid for each of the months of August, September, October, November and December of this year, immediately after the arrival of the Mail Agent.
The Postmaster-General of Melbourne, or some person appointed by him, must be satisfied that any boat offering has sufficient steam-power for the service required; and in case of choice of boats, the selection to rest with that officer.

ALTERATION OF HOURS.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on and after this day, the Chief Post-office, Dunedin, will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local Mails, which formerly closed at 4 p.m., will during winter, close at 5, and during the summer, at 7 p.m.
Letters for the local mails, which leave Dunedin on Monday morning, can be posted till 4 a.m. on that day.

MAILS TO ARTHUR’S POINT.
TENDERS will be received at this office, or at the Post Office, Queenstown, on or before the 10th August, proximo, for the conveyance of Mails Twice Weekly, between Queenstown and Maori Point, Arthur’s Point, from as early a date as practicable, and to be terminable by either party, on one month’s notice given to the other party, by either the Government or the Contractor.
Tenders to be at per annum, and security will be required. Days and hours of arrival and departure to be fixed by the Postmaster.
Parties tendering are required to designate the conveyance by which they propose carrying out the service; and also, to give the names of their proposed sureties.
