NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION.

THE Partnership hitherto existing between William Henderson Campbell, Thomas Callender Campbell, and James Callender Campbell, trading in Melbourne as Campbell Brothers & Co.; and in Dunedin as James C. Campbell & Co., has this day been dissolved as far as regards James Callender Campbell, who retires from the business.

Dunedin, 1st May, 1863.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned, Robert Amos and Alexander Cairns, as Iron Merchants, at Princes-street, in the city of Dunedin, in territory of New Zealand, under the firm of Cairns, Wilson, and Amos, was this day dissolved by mutual consent, and that all debts due and owing to or by the said firm at Dunedin aforesaid, will be received and paid by the said Alexander Cairns. As witness our hands this eighteenth day of March, 1863.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that Tuesday, the 30th June instant, will be observed as a Public Holiday, in commemoration of the Marriage of their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales.

TENDERS will be received at the office of his Honor the Superintendent, until 12 o’clock noon, on the 1st July, for the Construction of a Road from the Dunstan Township to the Junction of the Clutha and Kawarau Rivers.

NOTICE.

HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, that under the authority of Clause 85 of the “Harbor Regulations,” I order that no Boats whatever shall go alongside of any Steamer plying in the Harbor of Otago while such steamer is under weigh; any person disobeying this order, shall be prosecuted as the law directs.

SUPREME COURT, OTAGO.

THE COURT will sit in Banco on Monday, the 29th June instant, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, on which day there will be no civil jury sittings.

There will be no sitting of the Court on Tuesday, the 30th June instant.

The Court will sit on Monday, 13th July next, at ten, for hearing petitions under the Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862.

The next day for examination of candidates for admission as barristers and solicitors will be Saturday, the 15th August next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon.

SEALED TENDERS will be received at this office on or before 1st July prox., for the undermentioned Mail Services, from early in July to 31st December, 1863:— Conveyance of Mails between the Post Offices at Dunstan and Queenstown via Arrow River and Frankton, twice weekly.

Between the Post Office Warepa and an office to be established at the Molyneux township, twice weekly.

Tenders to be at per annum, and mode of conveyance to be stated.

Days and hours of arrival and departure to be fixed by the Postmaster, and security will be required.

The Government will not be bound to accept the lowest or any of the tenders.

PROVINCIAL HIGH SCHOOL, DUNEDIN

Principal and Classical Master: The Rev. T. H. Campbell, M.A., late Head Master of the Grammar School, Wolverhampton, formerly Fellow of St. John’s College, Oxford, and Assistant Master at the Charterhouse.

Mathematical Master: D. Brent, Esq., B.A., late Scholar of Queen’s College, Cambridge, and one of the Mathematical Masters of Tunbridge School.

English Master: G. P. Abram, Esq., M.A., late Scholar of Clare College, Cambridge, and Second Master of the Grammar School, Wolverhampton.

Such additional Masters and Assistants will be engaged from time to time as the attendance and the requirements of the Pupils may render necessary.

The above-named gentlemen are expected to arrive in Dunedin in the month of July next, and the School will probably be opened about the beginning of the following month.

Information respecting the Rate of Fees, the Entrance Qualifications, &c., will be given in a future advertisement.

MURDER NOTICE.

THE mare hereinafter described, the property of Joseph Smith, otherwise John Eldon, alias Yorkey, who was recently murdered at Miller’s Flat, has not yet been recovered. Notice is hereby given, that a reward of £10 will be paid to any person who will give such information as may lead to the recovery of the said mare.

DESCRIPTION

A dark bay mare, branded M or RM on one shoulder, near eye bone fractured in such a manner as nearly conceal the eye.

Information to any Police Station in the Province.
