3rd. Any Contractor having been called upon, and failing to appear, personally or by proxy, in order to take up his Tender and pay the required deposit, shall be precluded from the performance of any Works for the Provincial Government for a period not less than six months thereafter.

4th. Contractors will be required within 10 days from the acceptance of their Tenders, to furnish (2) two sureties, and enter into a Bond for the due fulfilment of the Contract, the sureties to be bound to the amount of (5) five per cent. on the Contract sum.

5th. The Tender of any Contractor having been accepted, and the requisite deposit having been made as a guarantee for his good faith, the said deposit shall be absolutely forfeited, if at the end of the ten days before mentioned the Contractor with (2) two Sureties shall have failed to execute a Contract and Bond in accordance with the terms above specified.

6th. Monthly payments on Contracts will be made at the rate of (80) eighty per cent. on the value of the work done, and in case of non-fulfilment of the Contract the Government will retain—

1st.—The cash deposit.

2nd.—The (20) twenty per cent. on the value of the work executed.

3rd.—Their remedy against the Contractor and his sureties under the before-mentioned Bond.

7th. Tenderers will be required, in all cases, to state the time necessary to complete the work tendered for.

NEW EDUCATIONAL OR SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in the localities of Blueskin and Lower Waipori respectively have been formed by the Education Board into separate Educational or School Districts, in pursuance of the provisions of the “Education Ordinance, 1862,” and that the following is a description of the boundaries thereof respectively, viz:—

BLUESKIN DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north by Blocks 2 and 3, Waikouaiti Survey District; on the east by the Ocean, Blueskin Bay, and the eastern boundary of Block 1, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; on the south by the Southern Boundary of Block 1, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; and on the west by the western boundaries of Blocks 1 and 2, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District.

BLUESKIN SURVEY DISTRICT, and Block 1, Waikouaiti Survey District.

LOWER WAIPOI DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north by the northern boundary of Block 7, Clarendon Survey District; on the north-east by Blocks 1 and 4, Maungatua Survey District; on the east and south-east by the Taieri River, and the eastern boundary of Block 7, Clarendon Survey District; on the south by the southern boundaries of Block 6, Maungatua Survey District, and Block 7, Clarendon Survey District; and on the west by the western boundaries of Block 7, Clarendon Survey District, and Block 2, Maungatua Survey District.

Notice is hereby also given that the boundaries of the Educational or School Districts of West Taieri and Waihola have been altered by the Education Board, in pursuance of the provisions of the Education Ordinance 1862, Clause 9, and that the following is a description of the boundaries as altered, of the said Districts respectively, viz:—

WEST TAIERI DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north-west and north by the boundary of the Hundreds; on the east and south-east by the Taieri River; and on the south-west by Lower Waipori District, and the boundary between Blocks 1 and 2, Maungatua Survey District, extended in a right line to the boundary of the Hundreds.

WAIHOLA DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north by Lower Waipori District; on the east by Lower Waipori District, the Taieri River, and the Ocean; on the south-east by the Ocean; on the south-west and west by Shag Creek, thence by the watershed of the ranges over stations S and J to Gorge Hill, thence to Horseshoe Bush Hill, and thence to the boundary of the Hundreds; and on the north-west by the boundary of the Hundreds.
