ORDINANCES TO BE LEFT TO THEIR OPERATION.
LETTER from the Colonial Secretary to His Honor the Superintendent.
Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Auckland, 10th March, 1863.
Sir—I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Honor’s letter, No. 1505, of the 30th January last, transmitting the Ordinances noted in the margin, which had been passed by the late Provincial Council of Otago, and to which your Honor had assented on behalf of the Governor; and, in reply, to inform you that they will be laid before the Governor on his return to Auckland, and His Excellency will be advised to leave these Ordinances to their operation.

Sir—I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the number and date quoted in the margin (No. 1505, 19th February, 1863), forwarding the “Fawnbrokers’ Ordinance, 1862,” and the “Dunedin Building Ordinance, 1862,” which you had assented to on behalf of the Governor, and to inform your Honor that His Excellency, on his return, will be advised to leave these Ordinances to their operation.

THE Applications for Rural Land, mentioned in the Provincial Government Gazette, of date 8th April, and received at the Land Office between 16th and 28th March, 1863, will be decided at the Land Office, Dunedin, at 12 noon, on 30th April, 1863.

AUCTIONEERS LICENCES.
SPECIAL MEETING FOR RENEWALS, &c.
A MEETING will be held at the Superintendent’s Office, Dunedin, on Thursday, 30th April, 1863, at 2 o’clock p.m., to take into consideration all applications for Auctioneers’ Licenses which may be received up till 12 noon of Tuesday 14th April. Forms of Applications may be had at the Treasury, Dunedin. Parties whose present Licenses expire on the 30th April, and who wish the same renewed, should attend to the above.

DUNSTAN HOSPITAL.
A RESIDENT SURGEON will be required for the Hospital about to be erected at the Dunstan.
Candidates must deliver their Diplomas at the Dunedin Hospital on or before 20th day of April, 1863.
Salary, £300 per annum, with apartments and rations. Private practice not allowed.
