Confirmation of Appointments of Wardens and Judges on the Gold Fields.

Sir—I have the honor to enclose copies of the Provincial Government Gazette of the 25th November and 3rd instant, containing appointments made by me on the Gold Fields, under the delegated authority vested in me by His Excellency the Governor.*

PROCLAMATION
Of Wakatipu as a Slaughter House District.
By his Honor John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS it is expedient that the Gold Field after-mentioned should be proclaimed a Slaughter-house District:
Now therefore, I, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date of this Proclamation the several provisions of the Ordinance “for Regulating the Slaughtering of Cattle,” passed by the Lieutenant-Governor and Legislative Council of New Zealand, in the eleventh year of the reign of Her present Majesty, shall come and be in force within the limits of the
WAKATIPU GOLD FIELD,
as set forth and described by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette under my hand the seventeenth day of February last.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

- The following are the appointments referred to:
Edward Croker, Esquire; Charles Worthington, Esquire; Jackson Keddell, Esquire; John Nugent Weed, Esquire; and Thomas Baston Archbold, Esquire, to be Wardens and Judges of Warden’s Courts on the Otago Gold Fields; John M’Kay to Gold Receiver and Mining Registrar; William Buchanan, Inspector of Licenses.

Of the Appointment of Tokomairiro Pound-keeper.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance, 1862,” I have appointed
JAMES GOODALL,
of Tokomairiro, Publican, to be Keeper of Tokomairiro Public Pound, situate in Section No. 87, Block X., Tokomairiro Hundred of Waihola.

OAMARU TOWN BOARD.
Election of One Person Member of the Town Board.
IN pursuance of the “Oamaru Town Board Ordinance, 1862,” Session XVI., No. 106, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint the Electors entitled to vote for Members for the Town of Oamaru, in the Provincial Council of Otago, to assemble upon Wednesday, the fifteenth day of April, 1863, at 12 o’clock noon, at the Court-house, in Oamaru, for the purpose of electing One Person, in room of Mr. Charles Trail, who has declined to act as a Member of the said Board.
And further, in pursuance of the said Ordinance, I hereby appoint Thomas Windle Parker, Esquire, of Oamaru, Returning Officer, to preside at the said meeting; and in the event of a Poll being
