to be Mining Surveyor of the Dunstan Gold Field.

APPLICATION FOR SAW MILL LICENSE,
Between the Greenstone and Dart Rivers, Wakatipu Lake.
NOTICE is hereby given that James William Robertson & Co. have applied for a License to erect a Saw Mill of 10-horse power at the Head of the Wakatipu Lake, between the Greenstone and Dart Rivers, and to have the exclusive right to get timber on 300 acres of land in that locality, the boundaries of which may be seen at the Waste Land Board Office, Dunedin.
Any person having objections to make to the granting of such license, must give notice of such objection in writing, to be delivered at the Waste Land Board Office, on or before Monday, the 20th day of April next; or the license will be granted in terms of the resolution of the Board, of the 3rd February, 1863.

At Port Chalmers, in the School-room there, the twelfth day of March, 1863.
A meeting of the Electors of the Town of Port Chalmers, assembled in the School-room there, in terms of a Notice by His Honour the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, and published in the Provincial Government Gazette of date 5th February, 1863, John Gillies presiding.
Mr. Gillies read the above-mentioned Notice and explained that the object of the meeting was to elect seven Members of the Town Board of Port Chalmers, in terms of the above-mentioned notice; whereupon it was moved by David Kilgour, and seconded by David Miller, that the following persons be elected Members of the Town Board, viz:—
- Arthur Brown
- John Crickmore
- Thomas Ibbotson
- Archibald Hilson
- Andrew Wilson
- James Lees
- William Murray
No other Candidates being proposed, the Returning Officer declared that the seven persons above-named were duly elected Members of the Town Board of Port Chalmers.
