PROCLAMATION
Of certain Gold Fields as Slaughter-House Districts.
By his Honor JOHN LARKINS CHEESE RICHARDSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS it is expedient that the Gold Fields after-mentioned should be proclaimed Slaughter-House Districts,
Now therefore, I, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby revoke the Proclamation of the twenty-eighth day of October last, in so far as the Dunstan Gold Field is included in the Oamaru Slaughter-House District, and do hereby Proclaim and Declare that from and after the date of this Proclamation, the several provisions of the Ordinance, “For Regulating the Slaughtering of Cattle,” passed by the Lieutenant-Governor and Legislative Council of New Zealand, in the eleventh year of the reign of Her present Majesty, shall come and be in force within the limits of the Gold Fields following, that is to say—
THE DUNSTAN GOLD FIELD,
As set forth and described by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette under my hand of even date here-with.
MOUNT BENGER GOLD FIELD,
As set forth and described by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette under my hand on the sixth day of November last; and
THE WAKATIPU GOLD FIELD,
As set forth and described by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette under my hand on the sixth day of January current.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

PROCLAMATION
Extending to the Hospital in the Town of Lawrence, in the Tuapeka Gold Field, the “Hospitals’ Ordinance, 1862.”
By his Honor JOHN LARKINS CHEESE RICHARDSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS it is expedient that the provisions of the “Hospitals’ Ordinance, 1862,” should be applied to the Hospital in the Town of Lawrence, in the Tuapeka Gold Field,
Now therefore, I, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the said Province, in virtue of the powers vested in me by the aforesaid Ordinance, do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, Proclaim that the aforesaid Ordinance shall be deemed and taken to apply to the Hospital aforesaid.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

INSPECTOR OF SLAUGHTER-HOUSES APPOINTED.
Superintendent’s Office,
Dunedin, 27th January, 1863.
HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him, he has appointed the Member of the Police Force of the Province of Otago hereinafter named to be an Inspector of Slaughter-Houses and of Cattle intended for Slaughter, within the Slaughter-House District set above his name.
