HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
MR. ALEXANDER WILLIAM LOGIE
to be Sub-Collector of Customs at the Port of Taieri, in the Province of Otago.

NOTICE is hereby given that Money Orders will be issued on and after the 1st November next, at any Money Order Office in New Zealand for the transmission of money to the Colony of Victoria.
Commission will be charged on Money Orders issued at the following rates. For any sum:
Not exceeding £5 . . . . 1s. 0d.
Above £5 and not exceeding £10 . . . 2s. 0d.
No single Order will be issued for a greater amount than Ten Pounds.
Full information as to Forms, &c., will be supplied to the public on application at any Money Order Office.

Notice under “Joint Stock Company’s Act, 1860.”
Office of Registrar of Joint Stock Companies,
Dunedin, September 26th, 1862.
I, MICHAEL CREAGH, Registrar of Joint Stock Companies for the Provinces of Otago and Southland, do hereby notify that I have registered a Memorandum of Association with Articles of Association annexed, establishing a Company (with limited liability of the Shareholders therein), entitled
“THE DUNEDIN GAS LIGHT AND COKE COMPANY LIMITED,”
the objects for which the said Company is established being, “The supply of Gas within the Town and Suburbs of Dunedin and the sale of Coal and of Coke, Tar and other residual products of the distillation of Coal or other material used for the manufacture of Gas.”
And I hereby further notify that, in pursuance of the provisions of “The Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860,” I have issued a Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company bearing date this twenty-sixth day of September, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty-two.

TENDERS FOR MAILS.
Chief Post Office,
Dunedin, 29th October, 1862.
Sealed Tenders will be received at this office, on or before the 20th November proximo, for the conveyance of the undermentioned mails within this province, from 1st January to 31st December, 1863, or for such further period as the Postmaster may see fit to continue the contract; either party having power to determine the same at, or at any time after, the period now stated, three months’ notice of the same having been previously given.
Days and hours of arrivals and departures to be fixed from time to time by the Postmaster. Tenders may be for one service, or for any number of services conjoined. Tenders to be at per annum, and security will be required for the due fulfilment of the contract.
The Government will not be bound to accept the lowest nor any of the tenders.
Tenders to be endorsed—“Tender for Mails between”:

Between Dunedin and Tokomairiro, daily, each way.
Carrying letters and newspapers. -
Between Tokomairiro and Glenore, Waihola, and Tuapeka Junction, daily, each way; on all other days, letters only.

Between Tuapeka Junction and Wetherstones, Gabriel’s Gully, and Munroe’s Gully, daily, each way.

Between Tokomairiro and Mataura Ferry, via Clutha Ferry and Waiwera, twice weekly, each way.
Carrying letters and newspapers. -
Between Clutha Ferry and Warepa Post Office, twice weekly, each way.
Carrying letters and newspapers. -
Between Dunedin and Waitangi, weekly, each way.

Between Waikouaiti and the Dunstan Gold Field, weekly, each way.
Also, from 1st January to 30th June, 1863, or for any longer period, as above mentioned:
Between Dunedin and the Gold Fields at Wai- (Carrying letters and pori, via North and West Taieri, weekly, each way.) newspapers.
