PROCLAMATION

OF A GAOL AT DUNSTAN GOLD FIELD.

By his Honor John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS it is expedient to proclaim part of the Lock-up or Watch House at “The Dunstan Gold Field” in the said Province, to be a Public Gaol:

Now therefore I, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance of the power in me vested in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that tie cell, enclosure, or compartment numbered 2, in the Lock-up or Watch House at “The Dunstan Gold Field” in the said Province, shall henceforth be a Public Gaol of the Colony of New Zealand.

Given under my hand at Dunedin, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this (L.S.) sixteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

WHEREAS it is expedient to proclaim part of the new Lock-up or Watch House at Port Chalmers, to be a Public Gaol:

Now therefore I, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance of the power in me vested in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and desire that the cell, enclosure, or compartment, numbered 2 in the new Lock-up or Watch House at Port Chalmers, shall henceforth be a Public Gaol.

Given under my hand at Dunedin, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this (L.S.) twentieth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.
