except out of any District, proclaimed as
infected under the said Act, any port or
place within the limits of such District,
and every such excepted port and place
shall be deemed not to be within the pro-
claimed district, and the Superintendent
may also from time to time by Proclama-
tion as aforesaid, rescind any Proclamation of an infected District wholly or as to
any part thereof, and also the Proclamation of any such exception as aforesaid.

In the exercise of powers, delegated
under the 10th section of the Act, the
Superintendent of any Province may pro-
hibit the importation, either by land or by
sea, of cattle into such Province, from any
other Province, or any particular port or
place in any other Province, or across the
borders of a Province or any particular
part thereof. -
In all such last mentioned cases such
Superintendents shall cause notice as
speedily as possible of such prohibition
to be given to the Superintendent of the
Province from which importation shall be
prohibited, and also to the Governor. -
The Superintendent of any Province
may in his discretion suspend or forbear
to exercise all or any of the powers dele-
gated to him under the said Act. -
The Superintendent of each Province
shall, as soon as can be after the com-
mencement of each sitting of the Provin-
cial Council of such Province, lay before
such Council copies and particulars of all
Appointments, Regulations, Acts, and
Proceedings whatever issued made or
done by him under the Delegated Powers
of the said Act. -
If the Provincial Council of any
Province shall by resolution declare their
dissent from all or any of such Appoint-
ments, Regulations, Acts, and Proceedings,
such resolution shall be forthwith transmit-
tted by the Speaker to the Governor
for his consideration.

THE PARTNERSHIP hitherto existing be-
tween the undersigned, James Thompson and James
Hassell, carrying on business as Wool Scourers and
Fellmongers, under the style or firm of James
Thompson & Co., is this day dissolved by mutual con-
sent. All debts due to and from the late firm will be re-
spectively received and paid by the said James
Hassell.

HAWKSBURY DISTRICT—BLOCK VII.
Will be open for applications on Monday, the
3rd day of November next.
Block 7, Hawksbury, is bounded on the north by
the Pleasant River, on the south by Block III.,
Hawkesbury, on the west by unsurveyed land, and
on the east by Block II, same District, and is within
three-fourths of a mile of the Main North
Road, before its junction with the road by Waikouaiti
to the interior gold fields.
AKATORE DISTRICT—BLOCK VI.
Will be open for applications on Tuesday, the 4th
day of November next.
Block 6, Akatore, is bounded on the west and
south by the Tokomairiro River, on the north by
Block I, in which there is a large reserved bush, and
on the east by Block V. of the same District.
HILLEND DISTRICT—BLOCK I.
Will be open for applications on Thursday, the 6th
day of November next.
Block I., Hillend, adjoins the Township Reserve,
on the east bank of the Clutha, opposite the Ferry
House, and is bounded on the east by Blocks IX., X.
and XI., South Tuakitoto District, and is intersected
by the Great South Road.
Forms of application may be obtained at the Land
Office, Dunedin, and maps of the various Blocks may
be had from Mr. Livingston, Bookseller, Stafford-
street.

Lawrence, at the Camp, Tuapeka, on Wednes-
day, the 5th day of November, at 12 o’clock.
Havelock, at the Camp, Waitahuna, on Friday,
the 7th day of November, at 12 o’clock.
TENDERS
Will be received at the office of His
Honor the Superintendent till four p.m. of Fri-
day, the 17th October, for the formation of about four
miles thirty chains of the road from the township of
Kaitangata, towards the Southern Trunk road.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engi-
neer, Dunedin, and at the office of the Collector of
Customs, Kaitangata.

Goods Landing Stage, &c., in connection with the
present Jetty-street Pier. Plans and specifications

office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.
