PROCLAMATION

OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES ASSENTED TO

BY THE GOVERNOR.

By His Honor John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the following Ordinances passed by the Provincial Council of Otago, videlicet:

“The Otago Harbour Loan Ordinance, 1862.”

“Otago Public Buildings Loan Ordinance, 1862.”

“The Otago Harbour Trust Leasing Ordinance, 1862.”

Were presented to me, the Superintendent, for the Governor’s assent, and by me reserved for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon. And whereas His Excellency has been pleased to assent to the said Ordinances,

Now, therefore, I, the said John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the said Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim that His Excellency Sir George Grey, the Governor of New Zealand, assented to the said Ordinances upon the twentieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

Given under my hand, and issued (L.S.) under the public seal of the Province of Otago, this twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

PROCLAMATION

BRINGING INTO OPERATION CERTAIN ORDINANCES WITHIN THE TOWN OF OAMARU.

WHEREAS by the “Towns Cattle Trespass Ordinance, 1856,” passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Otago, certain penalties are imposed for any cattle that shall be found wandering at large within such limits of any town or village within the Province of Otago, as shall be from time to time proclaimed by the Superintendent: And whereas it is expedient to extend the several provisions of the before recited “Constabulary Force Ordinance, 1849,” and of the “Towns Cattle Trespass Ordinance, 1856,” to the Town of Oamaru: Now therefore, I, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the said Province of Otago, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers that be vested in me, proclaim and declare that the several provisions of the aforesaid recited “Constabulary Force Ordinance, 1849,” and of the “Towns Cattle Trespass Ordinance, 1856,” shall come and be in force within the limits of the Town of Oamaru, as the same are laid down in the Government Survey map of the said Town, from and after the 30th day of the present month of September.

Given under my hand, and issued (L.S.) under the public seal of the Province of Otago this twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT

by Deed of Assignment, dated the fifth day of September, 1862, John Wilson, of Dunedin, Butcher, did assign unto Henry Driver and Henry Porson Morse, all his Goods, Chattels, Book Debts, and Personal Estate for the equal benefit of his Creditors, and which said Deed now lies for inspection and execution at the offices of the undersigned, and Creditors not executing same on or before the thirtieth instant will be peremptorily debarred from the benefit thereof.

Dated this fifth day of September, 1862.
