NOTICE

To Owners of Land on which Trigonometrical Stations are situated.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to an Ordinance passed in the twenty-fifth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, entitled β€œAn Ordinance to provide for the security and preservation of Trigonometrical Stations and Boundary and Survey marks in the Province of Otago,” that the sum of five pounds is hereby tendered to each of the owners of the lands respectively situated in the districts as described in the subjoined list the names of the owners of which so far as known are also therein given for the purchase of the site of the Trigonometrical Station situate in the said lands respectively, and numbered alphabetically, as in the said list and on the Survey Maps of the said Province, and the land around the same included in a circle, the radius of which is ten feet from the centre of each such station, together with a right of way to and from the same, in, through, or over the said lands respectively for the purposes in the said Ordinance mentioned; and that the said sum of Five Pounds hereby tendered to each owner is in the hands of the Provincial Treasurer, ready to be paid to the said owners respectively on their application respectively for the same, at the office of the Provincial Treasurer, at Dunedin.

And it is hereby further notified that by the Trigonometrical Station Ordinance, 1861-2, every owner of the said lands is entitled to appeal to the Supreme Court, on the ground of the insufficiency of the sum of Five Pounds, as compensation for the site of such station and right-of-way thereto, provided he shall, within three calendar months after the publication of this notice, give to the Superintendent
