PROCLAMATION
By His Honor JOHN L. C. RICHARDSON,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

W HEREAS, in consequence of the
Prevalence of an Infectious Disease
amongst Cattle in the Australian Colonies, it
is confidently expected that Importation of all
Cattle thence into this Province will shortly
be wholly Prohibited by his Excellency the
Governor:

Therefore, in the meantime, I hereby Warn
all Persons resident in this Province or other-
wise, not to Purchase or Import any such
Cattle, and that those who do so will be held
liable for the consequences which may result
in the event of the introduction by them of
the Disease amongst the Cattle of this Pro-
vince.

Given under my hand, and issued under
the Public Seal of the Province of
Otago, at Dunedin, this Eleventh
day of June, One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-one.

ALEXANDER MCMASTER, Esquire,
