PROCLAMATION.
By his Honor JOHN LARKINS CHEESE RICHARDSON, Esquire, Acting-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS power is vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago to declare any House, Building, Enclosure, or Place, to be a Public Gaol:
NOW THEREFORE I, the Acting-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue of the powers vested in me, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that the Building presently known as the Lock-up at Oamaru shall be a Public Gaol of the Colony of New Zealand, until proper provision is made otherwise in that behalf.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the (L.S.) Province of Otago, this third day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one.
