PASTORAL DISTRICTS.


NOTICE.

IN terms of the 4th clause of the "Pastoral Districts Ordinance, 1859, I hereby convene the Annual Meeting of the Licensed Runholders occupying Runs within the several Pastoral Districts undermentioned: such Meetings to be held at the times and places as follow:—

OAMARU PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at the Northern Hotel, Oamaru, on THURSDAY, the 28th February next, at 12 o'clock noon.

MOERAKI PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at Young's Accommodation House, lately occupied by Mr. Thomas Hastie, at the Kuri Bush, near the Township of Hampden, on FRIDAY, the 1st of March next, at 12 o'clock noon.

WAIKOUAITI PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at Beal's Accommodation House, Waikouaiti, on MONDAY, the 4th of March next, at 12 o'clock noon.

DUNEDIN PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at the Shepherd's Hut, on the Run of J. & R. Fulton, No. 48, near the boundary of the West Taieri Hundred, on TUESDAY, the 5th March next, at 12 o'clock noon.

CLUTHA PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at the Station of C. V. Teschemaker, Esq., Waipahee, on WEDNESDAY, the 6th March next, at 12 o'clock noon.

INVERCARGILL PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at the Residence of Robert Stewart, Esq., Run No. 97, on THURSDAY, the 7th March next, at 12 o'clock noon.

RIVERTON PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at the Station of Matthew Scott, Esq., on Run No. 142, on WEDNESDAY, the 6th March next, at 12 o'clock noon.

LINDIS PASTORAL DISTRICT.
The Meeting to be held at the Head Station of John M'Lean, Esq, Run No. 236, on THURSDAY, the 28th February next, at 12 o'clock noon.

By the 5th clause of the said Ordinance it is provided:—

"The Meeting so convened shall be termed the "Annual Meeting;" and at every such meeting the Runholders shall elect one of their body to preside, who shall be called the "Chairman of the Annual Meeting;" and every such Meeting may be continued by adjournment, and every question thereat shall be decided by a majority of votes, each Runholder or his authorised agent having one vote, and the Chairman having an original and casting vote."

A PROCLAMATION,
Constituting Hundreds in the Province of Otago.

By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS GORE BROWNE, Companion of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the "Definition of Districts Act, 1858," that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to divide the Colony into Counties, Hundreds, Parishes, or such other divisions as he may deem expedient, which shall have such limits, and shall have and be known by such names or designations as in and by the Proclamation constituting the same shall be prescribed.

Now therefore I, Thomas Gore Browne, Governor as aforesaid, in exercise of the power in me in this behalf vested by the said recited Act, do hereby Proclaim and Declare as follows:—

There shall be within the Province of Otago, in the said Colony, the several Hundreds, bounded by the limits and known by the names or designations hereunder written—that is to say,

HAWKESBURY,
Forty-three square miles.
Bounded on the North by a direct line from Little Cone to Puketapu, thence by a direct line to the Lagoon head, thence by the Lagoon to the Ocean; on the East by the Ocean; on the South by Waikouaiti River; on the West by a direct line from the Waikouaiti junction to Mount Pleasant, thence by a direct line to Little Cone.


MOERAKI,
Twenty-four square miles.
Bounded on the North by the Kakaho Creek; on the East by the Ocean; on the South by a direct line from the mouth of the Waipai to Ridge Peak; and on the West by a direct line from Ridge Peak to the junction of the Kakaho Creek.


OAMARU,
Thirty-nine square miles.
Bounded on the North by an East and West line (true bearing), passing over the Devil's Bridge, between the Waiareka and Landon Creeks, and by the Landon Creek; on the East and South by the Ocean; and on the West by the Wainreka Creek.

Given under my hand, at the Government House at Auckland, and issued under the Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, this 30th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and sixty.
