GENERAL BOARD OF ROAD TRUSTEES.

NOTICE is Hereby Given, in accordance with Clause 39 of the "Road Ordinance 1856," that the Representatives from the Tokomairiro District Road Board have given notice of their intention to propose, at a future meeting of the General Board, that certain Road Lines in said District be shut up, and exchanged for

other rights of way, as proposed by the following Resolutions of the Tokomairiro District Road Board :—

"October 6, 1860.—Resolved.—To open a Road through the sections 1 and 2, Block XXX,—the said Road to commence from the north-east point of the same, and to run diagonally across the said two sections to the Road Line between Blocks XXX. and XXXI., at the point where the Road Line at the back of Block XXXI. meets the same."

"October 15, 1860.—Resolved, with consent of the proprietor, to open a Road from the north-west point of section 5, Block XXIX., in a nearly straight line through sections 5, 4, 3, 2, Block XXIX., and section 2, Block XXVIII., to the river side, at the point where the last-named section, and section 1, same Block, meets it; and from the lower ford near this point to the Road leading to Mr. Falconer's stockyard."

"As these Roads will render unnecessary certain other Roads, it was resolved that, with consent of the General Road Board, they should be closed, viz. :—The Road being between section 5, Block XXIX., and section 1, Block XXX.; and also the Road between sections 1 and 2, and section 9, Block XXX. : these to be given to Mr. J. Martin in exchange for new Road Line and fencing the same. Also, the Road between sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block XXVIII., on one side, and parts of Block XXIX., on the other side; and also, the Road Reserve on the river bank, and adjoining sections 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block XXIX. : these last two portions of Road Lines to be closed, and given in exchange to Mr. John Gillies and to Mr. J. L. Gillies in return for the new line through their land, and fencing the same."
