CAPTAIN W. CARGILL, the First Superintendent of the Province of Otago, Died, at Hillside, Dunedin, THIS DAY, at 10 minutes past 5 o'clock a.m.
The Ceremony of the Funeral will take place on FRIDAY, the 10th instant, when the presence of the Public Functionaries of the Province, and the attendance of all other persons who may be desirous of testifying their respect, is requested.
The FUNERAL will leave the residence of the late Capt. Cargill, at Hillside, at 2 o'clock, p.m.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that the Provincial Government Offices will be CLOSED on FRIDAY next, the 10th instant, on the occasion of the Funeral of the late CAPTAIN CARGILL. He also suggests the propriety of a general cessation from business on the day named, in token of respect for the Memory of the first Superintendent of the Province.
