PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor JAMES MACANDREW,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed
by the Superintendent of the said
Province, by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Provincial Council thereof, in-
tituled the "Pastoral Districts Ordinance,
1859," it is enacted that "it shall be law-
ful for the Superintendent from time to
time, by proclamation in the 'Provincial
Government Gazette,' to constitute Dis-
tricts within the Province, which shall be
called Pastoral Districts:" And whereas, in
addition to the Pastoral Districts already
constituted, it is expedient to constitute
the other Pastoral District aforementioned;
NOW THEREFORE I, the said Superinten-
dent, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that
the Name and Boundaries of such other
Pastoral District shall, until otherwise
notified, be as follows, viz.:β
LINDIS PASTORAL DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by a line including
the following Runs, and running along
their outside boundaries, viz., Runs 348,
349, 341, 361, and 396.
On the East by Oamaru, Waikouaiti, and
Dunedin Pastoral Districts.
On the South by Clutha and Invercargill
Pastoral Districts.
On the West by a line including the follow-
ing Runs, and running along their outside
boundaries, viz., Runs 386, 356, 333, and
336.
Given under my hand, and issued
(L.S.) under the Public Seal of the
Province of Otago, at Dun-
edin, this thirtieth day of
January, One thousand eight
hundred and sixty.

LINDIS PASTORAL DISTRICT.
NOTICE.
IN terms of the 4th clause of the "Pas-
toral Districts Ordinance, 1859," I
hereby convene the Annual Meeting of the
licensed Runholders occupying Runs with-
in the Lindis Pastoral District, to be held
at the Head Station of John Maclean, Esq.,
Run No. 236, on FRIDAY, the 30th day of
March 1860, at 12 o'clock.

By the 5th clause of the said Ordinance
it is providedβ
"The Meeting so convened shall be termed
the 'Annual Meeting;' and at every such
meeting the Runholders shall elect one of
their body to preside, who shall be called the
'Chairman of the Annual Meeting:' and
every such Meeting may be continued by ad-
journment, and every question thereat shall
be decided by a majority of votes, each Run-
holder or his authorised agent having one
vote, and the Chairman having an original
and casting vote."
