PROCLAMATION.
I, WILLIAM CARGILL, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, New Zealand, in pursuance of the authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby fix and proclaim that the Eighth Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago aforesaid, shall be holden, within the School-house, in Dunedin in the said Province, and shall commence upon TUESDAY, the Twenty-fifth day of October next, at 12 o’clock noon, and the Members of the said Council are hereby warned to give their attendance at the said time and place accordingly.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, the Twenty-sixth day of August, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-nine.

DUNEDIN TOWN BOARD.
ELECTION OF ONE PERSON A MEMBER OF THE TOWN BOARD.
In pursuance of the “Dunedin Town Board Ordinance,” Sess. II., No. 23 A, the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint the Electors entitled to vote for Members for the Town of Dunedin, in the Provincial Council of Otago, to assemble upon MONDAY, the 10th day of October 1859, at 12 o’clock noon, within the Hall of the Mechanics’ Institution, Princes Street, Dunedin, for the purpose of Electing One Person to be a Member of the said Town Board, in room of Mr. J. C. Carnegie, deceased.
And further, in pursuance of said Ordinance, I hereby appoint John Gillies, Esquire, of Dunedin, Returning Officer, to preside at said Meeting: and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby appoint the Polling to take place in the said Hall of the Mechanics’ Institution, on WEDNESDAY, the 12th day of October 1859.
