HIS Honor the Superintendent has been pleased to direct it to be notified for general information that his Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
The Provincial Surgeon at Otago,
to be Health Officer for the purpose of carrying out the Quarantine Regulations.

In accordance with the Proclamation issued by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, dated at Auckland 16th day of December, 1857, to appoint Stations or Places for the performance of Quarantine by vessels bound to the several Harbours of New Zealand—I hereby appoint for the Port of Otago:—Within the Heads off Acheron Head in Hamilton Bay.

With reference to the notice of this date, issued from this office, publishing the names of persons to whom Licenses have been issued to depasture Stock on the Waste Lands of the Crown within the several Hundreds of Dunedin, East Taieri, West Taieri, North Tokomairiro, South Tokomairiro, East Clutha, and West Clutha respectively, for the year 1858, I hereby call Meetings to be held in conformity with the Waste Land Regulations for the Province of Otago, (1st April, 1856) at the times and places hereinafter stated, of the holders of such Depasturing Licenses, for the purpose of electing from amongst themselves Three Wardens for the Hundred of Dunedin, Five Wardens for the Hundred of East Taieri, and Three Wardens for each of the Hundreds of West Taieri, North Tokomairiro, South Tokomairiro, East Clutha, and West Clutha respectively, who shall have the regulation and apportionment for the current year of the right of pasturage upon the Waste Lands of the Crown within the said Hundreds, together with the other powers specified in the said Regulations.
DUNEDIN HUNDRED.
At the Waste Land Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday the 10th February next at noon.
EAST TAIERI.
At the School-house, East Taieri, on Tuesday, the 23rd February next, at 3 o’clock, p.m.
WEST TAIERI.
At the premises of Mr. James Henderson, Waipori, on Wednesday the 24th February next, at 5 o’clock, p.m.
NORTH TOKOMAIRIRO.
At the premises of Mr. Henry Clark, Tokomairiro, on Friday the 26th February next, at 5 o’clock, p.m.
