Superintendent’s Office,
Dunedin, 27th February, 1857.
I give notice that the authorised Fares chargeable at the Lower Taieri Ferry for persons, animals, carriages, and goods conveyed across the same, are the following, viz.—From sunrise till one hour after sunset:

For each Person .......................... 0 6
" " Horse, Mule, or Ass, ........ 1 0
" " head of Great Cattle, ....... 0 6
" " Sheep, Goat, or Hog,
when under 20, .......................... 0 2
" " Sheep, Goat, or Hog,
when 20 and upwards, ................... 0 1
" " Cart, Dray, or Carriage, unloaded, ... 2 6
" Goods at the rate of 6d. per cwt.
From one hour after sunset till sunrise the above Fares and Freights, and one-half more, shall be charged. Further, I hereby give notice that the Mail, and persons exhibiting a certificate under the hand of the Superintendent that they are on duty under the employment of the Government, are exempt from the payment of said Fares and Freights.
