Dunedin, 24th March, 1855.—We, the Auditors appointed under the provisions of the Board of Audit Ordinance, Session II. No. 2, having examined the Provincial Treasurer’s Accounts for the year ending 30th September, 1854, find that they are correctly stated, duly authorised, and properly vouched—that the Receipts amount to £4495 14s. 5d., and the Disbursements to £2014 2s. 9d., and that there then remained in his hands a balance of £2481 11s. 8d.

ANNUAL REGISTRATION OF DOGS.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Registration of Dogs for this Province commenced on the 1st day of April instant, in terms of the “Dog Nuisance Ordinance” of the Provincial Council of Otago, Session II., No. 7.
By that Ordinance it is, among other things, provided that the Owner, whether Native or European, of any Dog or Dogs 6 months old or upwards, shall annually, on the 1st day of April, register the same in a Book to be kept for that purpose by the Clerk to the Bench of Magistrates, who, on receiving payment of a fee of 10s. for every such Dog, shall furnish to each party a Registration Ticket, containing the particulars of Registration.
A penalty not exceeding £5 is imposed on parties refusing to exhibit the Registration Ticket when required to do so by a constable or other authorised persons; and a penalty of not less than Twenty Shillings nor more than £5 is imposed on any person maintaining or having in his following any unregistered Dog.
