HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT has been pleased to make the following appointments under the Otago Ordinance, Session I. No. 11, viz:—
- Allan Boyd, of East Taieri, to be Inspector of Sheep for the East and West Taieri District, including the Waipori;
and
George Cameron, of the Tokomairiro, to be Inspector of Sheep for the Tokomairiro and Waihola District.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor William Cargill, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by a Public Ordinance, passed in the first Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, No. 10, intituled “An Ordinance for Forming, Altering, and Maintaining Public Roads in the Province of Otago,” Section 8, it is enacted “That the Superintendent shall divide the whole Province into Districts, and shall distinctly lay down the boundaries of each District by a Proclamation in the Gazette and in the newspapers:” And whereas, by Proclamation dated the 19th day of July, 1854, and published in the Gazette of date the 22nd day of July, 1854, and in the “Otago Witness” of date the 29th day of July, 1854, two boundaries of the Wakari District, and of the Town District of said Province, were distinctly laid down, and a Notice published requiring the Inhabitants of said Districts to meet, namely, those of the Wakari District at the premises of Mr. Marshall on Tuesday, the 1st day of August then next, at 11 o’clock; and those of the Town District in the Mechanics’ Institution, on the 2nd day of August, at 12 o’clock noon, to elect Trustees in terms of the foresaid Ordinance: And whereas the said Meetings and Elections, from divers causes, were not held: And whereas it is therefore necessary that a new Notice should be issued by the said Superintendent, so as the provisions of the said Ordinance be carried into effect in the said Wakari and Town Districts.
WHEREFORE I, the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, hereby of new proclaim that the Wakari and Town Districts shall come under the provisions of the said Ordinance from and after the date of this Proclamation.
That the respective boundaries of the said Wakari and Town Districts shall be the same as are distinctly laid down in the said Proclamation dated 19th July, 1854: And I further give notice to the Inhabitants of the said Wakari and Town Districts, qualified in terms of said Ordinance, to assemble and elect Trustees as aforesaid, on the dates and at the places herein stated, and in each case to return to His Honor the Superintendent the names of the Trustees so elected.
No. 2. WAKARI DISTRICT—In the house of Mr. James Marshall, on Tuesday, the third day of October next, at 7 o’clock p.m.
No. 3. TOWN DISTRICT—In the Mechanics’ Institution, Dunedin, on the fourth day of October next, at 7 o’clock p.m.
Given under my hand at Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, the fourteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four.
