Notification of Additions to the Generally Recognised as Safe List (Notice No. MPI 782)

Pursuant to section 8B(5) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 ("Act"), substances generally recognised as safe and exempt from registration under Part 2 of the Act have been added to the Generally Recognised as Safe List ("List").

A copy of the List may be inspected free of charge at or purchased from the office of the Ministry for Primary Industries, Pastoral House, 25 The Terrace (PO Box 2526), Wellington.

Ministerial Direction to the Registrar of the New Zealand Emission Unit Register: Issuance of New Zealand Units Into the Crown Holding Account in the New Zealand Emissions Unit Register

Having consulted the Minister of Finance and having had regard to all the relevant matters pursuant to section 68 of the Climate Change Response Act 2002 ("Act"), I direct the Registrar appointed in accordance with section 11 of the Act to issue into the Crown holding account (NZ-1010) up to an additional 60.8 million New Zealand Units (NZUs).

This direction does not affect any previous directions issued under section 68 of the Act.

Designation of Auditing Agency

Pursuant to section 32 of the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001 ("Act"), I, Dr Stewart Jessamine, Director, Protection, Regulation and Assurance, Ministry of Health ("Ministry"), under delegation from the Director-General of Health, designate Q-Audit Limited to audit the provision or likely future provision of the following kinds of health care services:

  • Hospital care services (as defined in section 4(1) of the Act), that are:

    • children’s health services;
    • geriatric services;
    • maternity services;
    • medical services;
    • mental health services; and
    • surgical services.
  • Rest home care services (as defined in section 6(2) of the Act).

  • Residential disability services (as defined in section 4(1) of the Act), that are:

    • intellectual;
    • physical;
