Notice of Altered Geographic Names for Te Awa Tupua (Whanganui River Claims Settlement) Act 2017
Pursuant to sections 83, 84 and 85 of the Te Awa Tupua (Whanganui River Claims Settlement) Act 2017 ("Settlement Act 2017"), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of two altered official geographic names.
The Schedule below specifies the details of the two altered official geographic names, their geographic feature type or term, their descriptions and their former names.
The official geographic names took effect on 18 May 2017, being the settlement date specified in the Settlement Act 2017.
Pursuant to section 86 of the Settlement Act 2017, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic names, as listed in the Schedule below, with the consent of the trustees of Ngā Tāngata Tiaki o Whanganui.

Notice of Decisions to Approve Undersea Feature Names
Pursuant to sections 24(2)(a) and 24(3) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of 101 approved undersea feature names within New Zealand’s 12 nautical mile territorial limit, as described in the Schedule to this notice.
The Board’s final determinations on these approved undersea feature names took effect on 22 June 2017.
