Notice of Altered and Discontinued Crown Protected Area Names for Taranaki Iwi Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2016
Pursuant to sections 43, 44, 62, 65, 68, 73, 74, 75 and 86 of the Taranaki Iwi Claims Settlement Act 2016 ("Settlement Act 2016"), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of five altered and six discontinued Crown Protected Area (CPA) names. Schedules 1 and 2 below specify the details of the altered and discontinued CPA names.
The official and discontinued CPA names took effect on 23 February 2017, being the settlement date specified in the Settlement Act 2016.
Pursuant to section 45(2) of the Settlement Act 2016, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official CPA name, as listed in Schedule 1 below, with the consent of the trustees of Te Kāhui o Taranaki.
