Auckland Electric Vehicles – Phase 2 Trial Bylaw
Under section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, the NZ Transport Agency is proposing to create an Auckland Electric Vehicles – Phase 2 Trial Bylaw.
The proposed bylaw is intended to facilitate ease of access to, and the effectiveness of, electric vehicles travelling in specific priority bypass lanes for a 12-month period, after which the bylaw will be revoked.
The Energy Innovation Bill and supporting Road User Rules must be enacted prior to this bylaw coming into force. This consultation is in anticipation of these changes.
A copy of the draft bylaw and accompanying schedules may be obtained on the website at www.nzta.govt.nz/auckland-electric-vehicles-phase-2-trial-bylaw-2017 together with questions and answers.
We welcome your input and views on the proposed bylaw.
Submissions close on 3 August 2017 at 5.00pm.
For further information about the bylaw email: AEVTbylaw@nzta.govt.nz.
