2. Prohibited activities

The manufacture, importation, sale (including an offer to sell), and use (including installation) of the 10A – 15A Adaptor described below are prohibited.

This notice does not prohibit the manufacture, importation, sale (including an offer to sell), or use (including installation) of the individual items that make up this fitting.
3. Description of fitting
The fittings meeting the definition of a 10A – 15A Adaptor to which this notice applies are further described below:
a. The adaptor is manufactured out of a 15A socket outlet face plate, with or without a spacer plate, a blank face plate and two (2) or more 10A plugs in the "3 pin, flat pin" configuration compatible with AS/NZS 3112, or parts thereof.
b. The adaptor is being supplied for use with an In Cord – Control and protection device (IC-CPD) for use in the charging of electric vehicles.
c. Characteristics of the prohibited adaptor are below:
- it has a plastic body;
- it may have a sticker saying "15A";
- it has two (2) or more 10A plugs in the "3 pin, flat pin" configuration compatible with AS/NZS 3112 or parts of these plugs;
- the faceplates may be removable;
- components of the plugs may feature the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM);
- the live pins of the plugs may be half insulated;
- the plugs are or may be attached to a blank face plate;
- the rear of the plugs may be removed; and
- there may be holes in the blank faceplate to allow wires to be installed connecting the plugs to the 15A socket outlet.
