Under section 69P(4) of the Telecommunications Act 2001, the Commerce Commission ("Commission") gives public notice of an application by Smartlinx 3 Limited to be added to the Register of Chorus’ non-retail users.

Authorised Access to Certain Names and Addresses Held on the Motor Vehicle Register
Pursuant to section 241 of the Land Transport Act 1998 ("Act"), I authorise the following persons, for the purposes and the term, and on the conditions stated below, to have access to the names and addresses of persons:
- who are currently registered in respect of a motor vehicle(s); and
- who have not instructed the Registrar of Motor Vehicles to withhold their details.
Person: Financial service providers
Purposes:
a. To check or confirm details where the registered financial services provider has an existing security interest in the relevant motor vehicle, either in the form of a Personal Properties Securities Register (PPSR) interest or similar security interest; and
b. to assist in verifying the Registered person of a motor vehicle when assessing an application to provide finance in relation to that vehicle.
Person: Financial service providers who are insurers
Purposes:
a. To obtain names and addresses of persons registered in respect of vehicles that have been involved in motor vehicle accidents with the insurer’s clients;
b. to obtain name and address details to assist in verifying that payment for claims are made to the Registered person of the vehicle; and
c. for any other purpose that is reasonably required for the purpose of assessing or processing an insurance policy or claim in relation to a motor vehicle.
