Notice of End of Process for Making and Determining Victims’ Claims
Take notice that, pursuant to part 2 (subpart 2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”), compensation awarded to Anthony Pierre Evaroa was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 14 June 2016, and the surplus was paid into the victims’ claims trust account on 16 June 2016 on behalf of Anthony Pierre Evaroa to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.
And that on 2 July 2016, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and on 2 July 2016 on the website of the Ministry of Justice of the sum of money paid into the trust account and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.
Under section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the trust account on behalf of Anthony Pierre Evaroa.

Application to Export Sperm Whale Tooth Carving
Pursuant to section 5(5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Operations Manager, East Coast, Department of Conservation, notifies that he has received a permit application from James Wayne Ngata to export a sperm whale tooth carving.
A copy of the application can be obtained from the Department of Conservation, Christchurch Shared Services Unit, Private Bag 4715, Christchurch Mail Centre, Christchurch 8140.
Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Operations Manager, East Coast, Department of Conservation, c/o Bethan Parry, Christchurch Shared Services Unit, Private Bag 4715, Christchurch Mail Centre, Christchurch 8140, within 28 days from the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
Unless a person making a submission states to the contrary in the submission, that person will be deemed to give his/her consent to the release under the Official Information Act 1982 of all the information in the submission.
