Pursuant to sections 338(2) and 338(5) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the general land described in the First Schedule is hereby included in the existing Māori reservation for the land described in the Second Schedule constituted by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 12 October 1972, No. 83, page 2292, and is hereby redefined as being for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ngāti Whakaari and Ngāti Matepu tribes.

For security reasons relating to the New Zealand Defence Force, the identity of the recipient of the following award was not made public in the Special Honours List 2014, as published in a special edition of the New Zealand Gazette, 15 December 2014, No. 151, Notice No. 2014-vr7680, dated the 9th day of December 2014:

Citation

Corporal Steve Askin displayed outstanding gallantry on several occasions in Afghanistan in 2011. Corporal Askin repeatedly faced heavy fire from determined enemies and sustained several wounds in the line of duty, while contributing to the resolution of several incidents, the protection of civilian life and undermining enemy operations. Corporal Askin’s performance was of the highest order and in keeping with the finest traditions of New Zealand’s military record.
