L & R SNELL TRUST
Notice of Application for Approval of a Scheme of Variation Under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957
Take notice that on 16 August 2017, the trustees (“trustees”) of the L & R SNELL TRUST (“trust”) filed an application to the High Court of Wellington for approval of a scheme varying the terms of the trust established by the will of Lorna Snell dated 18 November 2013 (“trust deed”).
The scheme proposes to vary the trust deed by amending its purpose to clarify the objects of the trust, including amending references to Teacher’s Training Colleges to include Initial Teaching Education programmes (or other such programmes as approved by the Teacher’s Council) and to vary the administrative provisions of the trust by expressly broadening the trustees’ investment powers.
Further particulars may be obtained from the office of the applicant’s solicitors, WCM Legal.
The application is to be heard before the High Court at Wellington on Monday 30 October 2017 at 10.00am.
Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is required to give at least seven clear days’ notice before the matter is due to be heard of his or her intention to do so to:
- The Registrar of the High Court of Wellington;
- the Attorney-General, Crown Law Office, PO Box 2858, Wellington 6140 (attention: Kristina Muller and Amy Dixon); and
