Acting District Court Judges Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

Anne-Marie Josephine Bouchier, retired District Court Judge

John Enoka Macdonald, retired District Court Judge

to be acting District Court Judges, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under section 354(3) of the Criminal Procedure Act 2011, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for terms of two years commencing on 1 March 2017;

Stanley Arthur Thorburn, retired District Court Judge

to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under section 354(3) of the Criminal Procedure Act 2011, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term commencing on 1 March 2017 and expiring on 10 February 2019;

Patrick Insley Treston, retired District Court Judge

to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under section 354(3) of the Criminal Procedure Act 2011, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term commencing on 1 March 2017 and expiring on 9 May 2018;

Heather McGregor Simpson, CNZM, retired District Court Judge

to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of two years commencing on 1 March 2017;

Carolyn Henwood, retired District Court Judge

to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term commencing on 1 March 2017 and expiring on 19 September 2018;

Dale Fleur Clarkson, retired District Court Judge

Brian Hamish Struthers Neal, retired District Court Judge

Paul Whitehead, retired District Court Judge

to be acting District Court Judges, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, and also to exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Courts pursuant to section 7 of the Family Courts Act 1980, for terms of two years commencing on 1 March 2017;

Geoffrey Fraser Ellis, retired District Court Judge

to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, and also to exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Courts pursuant to section 7 of the Family Courts Act 1980, for a term commencing on 1 March 2017 and expiring on 31 December 2017; and

Alexander James Twaddle, retired District Court Judge

to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, and also to exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Courts pursuant to section 7 of the Family Courts Act 1980, for a term commencing on 1 March 2017 and expiring on 21 December 2018.
