f. the MRS is an amalgamation of two schemes that had already been granted a Ministerial exemption under the Act: the Seafarers’ Retirement Fund (SRF), and the Waterfront Industry Superannuation Fund (WISF); and

g. the MKS is an amalgamation of two schemes that had already been granted a Ministerial exemption under the Act: the SRF KiwiSaver Scheme (SKS) and the Waterfront Industry KiwiSaver Scheme (WIKS).

  1. This exemption revokes and replaces the exemptions previously granted to the Waterfront Industry Schemes (published in the New Zealand Gazette, 5 December 2013, No. 162, page 4481) and Seafarer Retirement Schemes (published in the New Zealand Gazette, 26 September 2013, No. 131, page 3677).

  2. This exemption came into force on the day after the date I granted this exemption (22 September 2016).

  3. This exemption will expire on 30 June 2020.

Radiocommunications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Maritime UHF On-Board Communications) Notice 2016

Pursuant to section 111 of the Radiocommunications Act 1989 and Regulation 9 of the Radiocommunications Regulations 2001, and acting under delegated authority from the chief executive, I give the following notice.

  1. Short title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Radiocommunications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Maritime UHF On-Board Communications) Notice 2016.

(2) This notice comes into force on 13 October 2016.

  1. Licence

(1) Licence Name: General User Radio Licence for Maritime UHF On-Board Communications.

(2) Licence: Any person may transmit radio waves on specified ultra-high frequencies (UHF) for the purposes of maritime on-board communications, in accordance with the applicable terms, conditions and restrictions of this notice.

(3) Licence number: 255207

(4) Commencement date: 13 October 2016.
