Explanatory note

This note is for explanatory purposes only.

The Declaration of Electricity Operators (Bay Energy Limited and Tilt Renewables Limited) Notice 2016 declares Bay Energy Limited and Tilt Renewables Limited, soon to commence activities as electricity generators following the demerger of Trustpower Limited, to be electricity operators under the Act.

Both are declared an electricity operator for all the purposes of the Act, including for the purpose of lines function services, which gives them rights to construct and maintain electricity works on roads and access rights in respect of level crossings.

Variations to the Retirement Villages Code of Practice 2008

Pursuant to section 89(6) of the Retirement Villages Act 2003 ("Act"), the Minister for Building and Housing gives notice of variations to the Retirement Villages Code of Practice 2008 made under section 90(4) of the Act.

The variations come into force on 1 April 2017.

The variations are to clauses 31–36 of the Retirement Villages Code of Practice 2008*.

The variations and the code are available from the office of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, 15 Stout Street, Wellington 6011. Postal Address: PO Box 1473, Wellington 6140.

Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for Te Kura o Waikare (1666) Board of Trustees

Under section 78M of the Education Act 1989, with delegated authority from the Minister of Education, I hereby direct the appointment of a limited statutory manager for the Te Kura o Waikare (1666) Board of Trustees.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and
all functions, powers and duties of the board in curriculum management, including teaching and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise).

The board will retain its primary duty of care as a person conducting a business or undertaking, under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, above and beyond all functions, powers and duties of this limited statutory manager.

This notice takes effect on the date of publication.
