Explanatory note
This note is for explanatory purposes only.
This notice sets the royalties payable by a holder of a Tier 2 exploration or mining permit for certain minerals for the period 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2016 (the 2016 reporting period). The royalties have been calculated and notified in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Crown Minerals (Royalties for Minerals Other than Petroleum) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/206).

Notice of Determination Regarding a Type of Interest in a Foreign Investment Fund for Which a Person May Use the Fair Dividend Rate Method

  1. This is a notice made under section 91AAO(5) of the Tax Administration Act 1994 ("Act") of a determination made by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue under section 91AAO(1)(a) of the Act.

  2. Determination FDR 2016/02 was made on 21 March 2016 determining that an investment by a New Zealand resident investor in the Astenbeck Offshore Commodity Fund II Limited is a type of attributing interest for which a person may use the Fair Dividend Rate method to calculate Foreign Investment Fund income from the interest for the 2017 and subsequent income years.

  3. The determination will appear in Inland Revenue’s Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 28, No. 4, of May 2016 and will also be available on the Inland Revenue website
