Notice of Intention to Seek Approval to Revoke Code of Practice
Under section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”) WorkSafe New Zealand
gives notice that it intends to seek approval to revoke the code of practice (“code”):
HSNOCOP 25 Management of Existing Stationary Container Systems at Timber Treatment Facilities.
The purpose of this code of practice is to provide a means of compliance with the requirements of Schedule 8 of
the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004, and
Regulations 39 and 40 of the Hazardous Substances (Emergency Management) Regulations 2001, in accordance
with clause 100(2)(c) of Schedule 8 and clauses 3(1)(b) and 4(4)(d) of Schedule 9 to the Hazardous Substances
(Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 (as amended).
It provides a means of transition for timber treatment facilities into the HSNO Act.

The consultation period for the proposal to revoke the code closes on Friday 15 February 2017.

Notification of Commerce Commission’s Final Determination for the Local and Cellular Number Portability Designated Multinetwork Services under the Telecommunications Act 2001
On 1 December 2016, submissions closed for the Commerce Commission’s (“Commission”) draft determination for
the local and cellular number portability designated multinetwork services.
The Commission has prepared a final designated multinetwork service determination for local and cellular
number portability under section 39(a) of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“Act”).
The Commission gives public notice of the final determination under section 39(c) of the Act.
On 19 December 2016, the Commission will publish a copy of the final determination. A copy of the final
determination and its supporting documents will be available on the Commission’s website at
www.comcom.govt.nz/regulated-industries/telecommunications/regulated-services/local-and-mobile-number-portability

Appointment of Persons to be Protection Officers Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Whereas pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate
those powers, under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, to Maritime
New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
