NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE, No. 112 — 1 DECEMBER 2016

A public consultation on Amendment 13, that ran from 20 July 2016 to 31 August 2016, did not highlight any objections to having additional safety requirements. Feedback showed that some clarification of the new requirements is needed, which will be incorporated into Amendment 15 of B1/AS1. Amendment 15 will be published shortly and will come into effect on 1 January 2017.

B1/AS1 is available for download free of charge from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s website

Licensed Building Practitioner Amendment Rules 2016

The Minister for Building and Housing gives notice that the Licensed Building Practitioner Amendment Rules 2016 have been made, under section 361 of the Building Act 2004, and will come into force on 10 November 2016.

With the exception of the External Plastering Licence Class competencies, the rules will come into force on 10 November 2016.

External Plasterers will not be required to comply with the new competency requirements until 23 March 2017.

The Licensed Building Practitioner Amendment Rules 2016 are available for viewing and downloading free of charge on the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s website

Appointments / Reappointment to the Board of Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi (Te Māngai Pāho)

Pursuant to section 42 of Te Ture mō te Reo Māori 2016, I am pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi (Te Māngai Pāho) of

as a member for a term of three years commencing on 17 November 2016; and

Brian Morris

as Deputy Chair for the remainder of his current term ending on 10 December 2018.
