Notice of Intention to Take Existing Mineral and Coal Rights for Road and for the Functioning Indirectly of a Road—Huntly Section of the Waikato Expressway, Waikato District
Notice is hereby given that the Minister for Land Information proposes to take, under the Public Works Act 1981,
the existing mineral and coal rights over the land described in the Schedule (“mineral and coal rights”).
The rights are required for the Huntly Section of the Waikato Expressway. More particularly, the rights described
in Part A of the Schedule are required for road; the rights described in Part B of the Schedule are required for the
functioning indirectly of a road (segregation strip); and the rights described in Part C of the Schedule are
required for the functioning indirectly of a road, of which part will, following construction, be declared road and
State highway and part will be set apart for the functioning indirectly of a road (segregation strip) and part will
remain held for the functioning indirectly of a road and used for a wetland.
The Waikato Expressway will provide a continuous four-lane carriageway between the Bombay Hills and south of
