Draft Residential Red Zone Offer Recovery Plan

Pursuant to section 20 of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011, notice is given to invite members of the public to make written comments on the Draft Residential Red Zone Offer Recovery Plan.

The purpose of the Draft Residential Red Zone Offer Recovery Plan is to assist the Crown to determine whether it should make new offers to buy vacant, insured commercial and uninsured improved properties in the residential red zone and, if so, how such offers should be constructed.

Written comments on the Draft Residential Red Zone Offer Recovery Plan must be received by 5.00pm on Thursday 9 July 2015. The written comments will be considered by the Minister along with the requirements of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 before deciding whether to approve the Recovery Plan (with or without changes). The Draft Residential Red Zone Offer Recovery Plan is available on the CERA website

Reference copies of the Draft Residential Red Zone Offer Recovery Plan will be available from Thursday 25 June 2015 at the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority’s office at Level 8, HSBC Tower, 62 Worcester Boulevard, Christchurch, and libraries and service centres in the districts of the Christchurch City Council and Waimakariri District Council.

Any person or organisation may make written comments on the Draft Residential Red Zone Offer Recovery Plan.

Notice of Exemption Under the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes, and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999

Pursuant to Regulation 5 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999 (“PECPR Regulations”), I, Richard Steel, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by WorkSafe New Zealand, hereby give notice that exemption is granted to controllers of timber treatment vessels from those duties in Regulation 10 of the PECPR Regulations, which require equipment to have a certificate of inspection.

This exemption applies to all treatment vessels that conform to the following criteria:

  1. The vessels were in service prior to 1 March 2004.
