Statement of Export Credit Office Guarantee Given Under the Public Finance Act 1989

Pursuant to section 65ZD(3) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:

“On 7 May 2015, the Acting Deputy Secretary, Financial Operations and Head of NZDMO acting for and on behalf of the Honourable Bill English, Minister of Finance on behalf of the Crown, provided a New Zealand Export Credit Office Financing Guarantee to Westpac Banking Corporation in relation to letters of credit issued by an off-shore bank. The New Zealand Export Credit Office maximum guarantee liability is USD18.75 million. A premium, commensurate with the risk, will be paid for this Guarantee.”

Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement (Extension to Waikato–East and Northland Negotiation Period) Notice 2015 (Notice No. MPI 492)

Pursuant to section 11(3) of the Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement Act 2004, the Minister for Primary Industries, after complying with the requirements in section 11(4) of that Act, gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement (Extension to Waikato-East and Northland Negotiation Period) Notice 2015.

(2) This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice:

    a. Act means the Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement Act 2004.

    b. Northland negotiation period means the period up to and including 30 June 2015, applying to the Northland region (by virtue of a second New Zealand Gazette notice extending the negotiation period for the Northland region (Notice No. MPI 350, New Zealand Gazette, 26 June 2014, No. 68, page 1924)), being the period referred to in section 11(2)(a) of the Act within which the Crown must use its best endeavours to negotiate and enter into a regional agreement that provides for the Crown to meet its obligations in respect of new space for that region.

    c. Waikato-East negotiation period means the period up to and including 30 June 2015, applying to the Waikato-East region (by virtue of a second New Zealand Gazette notice extending the negotiation period for the Waikato-East region (Notice No. MPI 350, New Zealand Gazette, 26 June 2014, No. 68, page 1924)), being the period referred to in section 11(2)(a) of the Act within which the Crown must use its best endeavours to negotiate and enter into a regional agreement that provides for the Crown to meet its obligations in respect of new space for that region.

    d. Region has the same meaning as in section 4 of the Act.

  2. Extension to negotiation period—Under section 11(3) of the Act, the Northland negotiation period and the Waikato-East negotiation period referred to in clause 2 of this notice are both extended to 30 September 2015.
