Revocation of a Notice—Greymouth Aerodrome, Grey District, Westland Land District

Pursuant to section 54 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Minister for Land Information hereby revokes the notice dated the 1st day of March 1945, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 28 March 1945, No. 22, page 358, and registered as K1078, Westland Land Registry.

Notification of Whenua Rāhui Overlay Classification and Protection Principles – Wakatūwhenua

Pursuant to section 51(1)(a) of the Ngāti Manuhiri Claims Settlement Act 2012, the Minister of Conservation hereby notifies that the area described in the Schedule hereto has been declared to be subject to an overlay classification known as whenua rāhui by section 43 of the Act.

The provisions of the Act which relate to whenua rāhui are sections 42–60.

Pursuant to section 51(1)(b) of the Act, the Minister hereby notifies that the following protection principles are directed at the Minister of Conservation avoiding harm to, or the diminishing of, Ngāti Manuhiri’s values in relation to Wakatūwhenua:

Recognition of Ngāti Manuhiri mana, tikanga and kaitiakitanga within Wakatūwhenua;
Respect for and inclusion of Ngāti Manuhiri tikanga within the management of Wakatūwhenua;
Recognition of the relationship of Ngāti Manuhiri with Wakatūwhenua;
Respect for the presence of Ngāti Manuhiri in the management and interpretation of Wakatūwhenua;
Encouragement of respect for the historical and cultural association of Ngāti Manuhiri with Wakatūwhenua;
Accurate portrayal of the association of Ngāti Manuhiri with Wakatūwhenua;
Recognition of Ngāti Manuhiri kaitiakitanga in relation to the mauri and natural values of Wakatūwhenua; and
Protection of wāhi tapu, wāhi whakahirahira, indigenous flora and fauna of Wakatūwhenua and the immediate environs.
