NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE, No. 121 — 5 NOVEMBER 2015

In this notice:

Ring-neck Parakeet means the avian species (Psittacula krameri), being an unwanted organism under the Biosecurity Act 1993:

Captive Ring-neck Parakeet means a Ring-neck Parakeet that is owned by any person, and is held in secure confinement in an aviary, cage or premises (residential or non-residential).

Pursuant to section 53(3) of the Biosecurity Act 1993, I give notice that I permit all persons who own or are in charge of a Ring-neck Parakeet to:

a. Breed Ring-neck Parakeets for the purpose of retaining as Captive Ring-neck Parakeets; and

b. Sell or offer for sale or exhibit Ring-neck Parakeets for the purpose of retaining as Captive Ring-neck Parakeets.

Pursuant to section 52(d) of the Biosecurity Act 1993, I give notice that I permit all persons who own or are in charge of Ring-neck Parakeets to:

a. Communicate Ring-neck Parakeets for the purpose of retaining as Captive Ring-neck Parakeets.

The permissions given by this notice are given for the purpose of sections 52 and 53 of the Biosecurity Act 1993 only, and do not constitute an exemption from the requirements of any other relevant legislation.
