Notification of Levy Rates on Sheepmeat and Beef

Pursuant to clause 14 of the Commodity Levies (Meat) Order 2010, notice is hereby given that for the levy year commencing 1 October 2015, the rates of sheepmeat and beef levies (exclusive of GST) and bases of calculation shall be:

  1. Sheepmeat levy – all sheep slaughtered $0.60 per head;
  2. Beef levy – all cattle slaughtered (including beef cattle and dairy cattle but excluding bobby calves) $4.40 per head.

Rate of Levy Under the Commodity Levies (Winegrapes) Order 2010

The New Zealand Grape Growers Council, at the Annual General Meeting in Hawke’s Bay on 26 August 2015, resolved that:

  1. The levy on the year 2016 harvest, in accordance with the Commodity Levies (Winegrapes) Order 2010, be set at 0.675% + GST as follows:
    a. In the case of grape juice or grape juice concentrate, 0.675% + GST of the notional price determined by the Council as per the Order.
    b. In the case of grapes exported from New Zealand, 0.675% + GST of the FOB value before deduction of any costs or charges.
    c. In the case of grapes sold, 0.675% + GST of the farm gate price before the deduction of any costs or charges.

  2. The notional pricing for grape juice and grape juice concentrate for the year 2016 vintage be the 75% quartile price for the region and variety concerned as determined by the previous vintage listed in the last published version of the New Zealand Winegrowers grape price data for the previous vintage. In the event that there are no listings of the variety and region concerned in previous Statistical Annuals, the notional pricing will be the 75% quartile price for New Zealand for the variety concerned, as determined by the previous vintage listed in the last published version of the New Zealand Winegrowers grape price data for the previous vintage.
