Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992 Notice 2014—Appointment of Directors of Area Mental Health Services

Pursuant to section 92 of the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992, I, Chai Chuah, Acting Director-General of Health, issue the following notice.

Notice

1. This notice shall be read together with the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act Notice 2013—Appointment of Directors of Area Mental Health Services (“the principal notice”)*.

2. Schedule 1 to the principal notice is amended in respect of “Tairawhiti DHB” by adding the name and title

   “Susan Mackersey, psychiatrist, of Tauranga”.

3. This amendment to the principal notice shall expire on 18 August 2014.

Revocation of Notices Under Section 24 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975

Pursuant to section 24(7) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, I, John Crawshaw, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, revoke the approval of the Taranaki District Health Board Alcohol and Drug Service and medical practitioner issued under this section on 13 March 2014.

Approval of Taranaki District Health Board Alcohol and Drug Service and Clinician to Provide Substitution Treatment Under Section 24 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975

Pursuant to section 24(7)(a) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, Health Board Alcohol and Drug Service as a service that may provide treatment with controlled drugs for people who are dependent on controlled drugs, at the following place:

Taranaki Base Hospital
David Street
New Plymouth 4310.

And, pursuant to section 24(7)(a) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, I specify

Dr Graeme James Judson

as a medical practitioner, may:

(a) prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the treatment of dependence on controlled drugs as the lead clinician for Taranaki District Health Board Alcohol and Drug Service;

(b) authorise in writing service/clinic medical practitioners as specified under subsection (2)(b) to:

(i) prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the treatment of dependence;

(ii) to authorise in writing general practitioners receiving clients from Taranaki District Health Board Alcohol and Drug Service as specified under subsection (2)(d); and

(c) authorise in writing general practitioners receiving clients from Taranaki District Health Board Alcohol and Drug Service as specified under subsection (2)(d).

Conditions

1. Controlled drugs may only be prescribed, administered or supplied to people who are or have been clients of Taranaki District Health Board Alcohol and Drug Service.

2. This approval expires on 31 December 2017.
