Education Act 1989

Amendment to Notice—Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees of Opononi Area School (11)

Pursuant to section 105A of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice of alternative constitution for the board of trustees of Opononi Area School, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 9 December 2010, No. 170, page 4194, by replacing the full text of that notice with the following:

“The Board of Trustees of Opononi Area School will be made up of the following members:

• Two parent representatives;
• the principal;
• one staff representative;
• one student representative; and
• up to four trustees appointed by the Minister of Education.

This constitution will operate as if sections 96, 97, 99, 101, 102, 104 and 105 of the Act apply where relevant.

For the first election of a student representative a returning officer will be appointed by the board and will carry out the duties in accordance with the Election Regulations.

This notice will come into force on the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Changes to the constitution of the board will be subject to the approval of the Minister of Education and must be notified in the New Zealand Gazette.
